How to find us:
Following the direction of La Spezia way out to Vezzano Ligure. Then turn right and proceed along the SS1 road until you find the 1st pedestrian crossing. After this turn right and proceed passing under the railway flyover.
At the 1st cross, turn right and, always standing on the principal road, proceed on Via Aldo Moro, then Via Borotzu and finally Via Stazione until N. 13 (old stone house). You have arrived!!!

The house...

A "Nissea" is an hold farmhouse, immersed in the countryside in a tranquil, centuries old olive grove.It is situated approximatively 1 Km from the village along the old road to the Railway Station, and is been recently restored with careful respect to the local charateristics of this area.

On the ground floor there is a large living room/dining room, a verandah and the kitchen. On the first floor there are two double bedrooms (one with a covered terrace) and a bathroom with shower. There is a private enclosed garden with a barbeque. The property has its own entry and ample private parking; a moped is available for hire.
The bus stop is ~ 200m from the house and there is a bus to Portovenere (which passes through the center of La Spezia). The house can be let with the use of kitchen or for bed and breakfast only (continental or full breakfast as required). No animals are allowed.
The owners speak Italian, French, English, Portuguese and Spanish.

The surrondings

Vezzano is a charming village of roman and medieval origins which, on one side is dominates by the Bay of La Spezia (the famous Bay of the Poets, Byron and Shelley) and the other side the valley of the river Magra with a spectacular view of the Apuan Alps and the beaches of Versilia.
Situated between Liguria and Tuscany, it is the ideal starting point for wonderful trips. The sea is only 10 min. away (at Lerici) or maximum 20 min. (Portovenere, Versilia with its white beaches). There is a daily fast boat service to Portofino and the steep slopes of the villages of the Cinque Terre (the five lands).
For walking enthusiasts, the spectacular paths of the Cinque Terre (the villages hanging over the sea) provide memorable walks. The Carrara marble quarries are only 15 Km away.

Activities and folklore events

In Sarzana, during the month of August, there is an antiques fair and the "Soffitta nella Strada" ("the attic on the Street"), fair which are held in the medieval fortress and the old town centre. Towards the middle of September there is the "Festa dell’uva" (The grape festival) when the old quarters of Vezzano are decorated, there are processions and costumes, tasting of local dishes and local crafts. During the whole summer in Vezzano, La Spezia and all the surroundings villages, one after another, there are wine/gastronomic festivals, concerts, open air perfomances (such as the famous Palio del Golfo), and firework displays.
